Quaint and Inviting

Take a peek through the restored wooden window just off the small front garden and you’ll see that this little place is a charmer. It has basically remained intact over the years with its pasta floors and wooden doors and windows, and now has all new grounded electric wiring and plumbing, including provisions for two mini-split air-conditioners, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. This is a road with no bus traffic, but near a major street with a large grocery store, and only 5 blocks from the popular church and park of Santiago. Hop on the bus for 35 cents and you’re downtown at the main square and cathedral in less than 5 minutes. The house may be small, but it’s a winner, and you’ll have plenty of room in the spacious backyard to build as you please. For starters, try combining the old water tank to the bathroom just about a foot away to make a stunning shower or hot tub. Use the existing three walls and concrete base between the side wall and the kitchen to create a great screened-in dining room, and then add a door to the old dining room and create an extra bedroom. The house faces east, so you’ll have some beautiful lighting in the living room in the early morning, and the shade in the afternoon. Hang up your hammock for some quiet, lazy afternoons in the shady back yard!
